Drake, Elton John and Van Halen to Headline Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta
Drake, Elton John, Van Halen and Sam Smith will headline the 2015 Music Midtown Festival, it was announced Tuesday. Who will kiss Drake this time?
The event will be held in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park over two days in September; the lineup also features heavy hitters including Lenny Kravitz, Billy Idol, Panic! At the Disco, Run the Jewels, Tove Lo, Jenny Lewis and Hozier. Additional artists will be announced closer to the festival.
Last year’s edition of the festival included performances by Jack White, Lorde, Eminem and Zac Brown Band, to name a few.
The festival ran from 1994 to 2005 before starting up again in 2011. The 2015 edition will see the addition of a fourth stage, accommodating more performances over the two-day festival.
Tickets to Music Midtown 2015 start at $136, which is a steal, considering the headliners and ticket prices for other high-profile fests. (Coachella’s three-day general admission pass runs for $375, while Austin City Limits’ three-day pass is $250 and Lollapalooza’s three-day pass is $275.)
Music Midtown Festival will take over Atlanta’s Piedmont Park Sept. 18 and 19. Tickets to the two-day festival go on sale Saturday, June 27.
